The people behind CostToWork
CostToWork is produced by a small editorial team focused on a single beat: the real financial and time cost of going to work.
Editorial mission
To give every worker a clear, unbiased view of what their commute and working arrangement is costing them — in money, in time and in life energy — so they can make better decisions about jobs, housing and remote work.
Expertise statement
Our editors combine backgrounds in personal finance journalism, transport economics and data analysis. Every contributor is required to source claims to primary government data (see our data sources) and to disclose assumptions in line with our research methodology.
CostToWork Editorial Team
Editors & researchers
The CostToWork editorial team reviews every article and calculator update. Individual contributor bios and photos will be added as the team is publicly named.
Review process
Every article passes through writing, factual review, and a final editor pass before publication. Calculator changes additionally require a numeric regression check against worked examples. See our full editorial guidelines.
